About this event

Beginner's Sourdough Class with Audra Leigh of Havenleigh Kitchen

πŸ“… Tuesday, November 10, 2026 Β· 5:30 PM

πŸ“ Oro Valley, AZ (address provided upon registration)

🎟 $125 per person · Only 6 spots available

There are a lot of ways to make sourdough. This is the one that actually works for me β€” and I'm going to show you exactly how I do it, in my own kitchen, start to finish.

This isn't a lecture. It's a real, hands-on class where you'll get your hands in the dough, ask every question you've been afraid to Google, and leave with the confidence β€” and the bread β€” to do it yourself at home.

Here's what we'll cover together:

β€’ How a sourdough starter works, how to keep it alive, and what to do with the discard (spoiler: crackers and cookies)

β€’ The tools you actually need β€” I'm a minimalist, so the list is short

β€’ Mixing, stretch and folds, and how to build gluten without overcomplicating it

β€’ How to read your dough β€” bubbles, texture, the aliquot jar method, and the timing guide

β€’ Shaping and loading your banneton for an overnight cold proof

β€’ Scoring and baking β€” Dutch oven, loaf pan, and open bake methods

Every ticket includes:

🍞 A freshly baked loaf of sourdough to take home

πŸ«™ 2 loaves to continue the process at home β€” [1 shaped and ready to score and bake the next morning + 1 needing to rise and cold proof - this will all make sense after the class!]

🧺 A banneton proofing basket

🧡 A tea towel

πŸ”ͺ A bench scraper

πŸ«™ A jar of my dehydrated starter

πŸ“– The Havenleigh Kitchen sourdough recipe booklet

This class is for you if:

You've always wanted to make sourdough but didn't know where to start. You've tried before, and it didn't work. You want someone to just show you β€” in real life, not a YouTube video.

This class is limited to 6 people. That's intentional. Everyone gets hands-on time, individual attention, and a seat at the table. Once these spots are gone, they're gone...Until the next class :)
