About this event

In “Finding True Southwest”, you will discover an eclectic variety of mediums including artisanal furniture, basketry, ceramics, and stained glass in addition to 2-D art in oil, acrylic, linoleum cut prints, assemblage/collage and photography. Many of our artists found their artistic voice later in life. Their life experience informs their appreciation of all the Southwest has to offer when one takes the time to fully appreciate this unique area.

Our judge for this show is Tony Ray Baker, Co-founder of The Tucson Gallery in downtown Tucson. “He brings an infectious energy and unwavering belief in the power of local creativity..”

The Southern Arizona Arts Guild (SAAG) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting, supporting and celebrating the visual arts in Southern Arizona. SAAG has grown into a vibrant community of more than 300 member artists working in a wide variety of fine art mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, jewelry, glass, fiber arts and mixed media representing approximately 110 local artists.
