About this event
What do the objects we keep reveal about us?
In The Need to Keep: Works by Amanda Kelly, carefully constructed miniature scenes explore memory, accumulation, identity, and the emotional significance of everyday objects. The environments contain no human figures. Instead, accumulated possessions and signs of use suggest a recent presence.
Through works ranging from a coffin towing a Uhaul to a nostalgic pocket-sized toy, Kelly uses miniature scale to draw visitors into spaces often hidden from view. Visitors are invited to slow down, look closer, and consider the stories carried by the objects around us.
The exhibition is on view September 25, 2026–April 11, 2027. Museum hours are Tuesday–Sunday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Content advisory: This exhibition explores themes related to hoarding disorder and includes detailed depictions of severe clutter.
