- ➤ A local nonprofit, TRAK, uses animal-assisted learning to help kids build confidence and skills through horse riding lessons and volunteer opportunities at its ranch, and new land from Pima County strengthens community ties. KGUN 9
- ➤ A new Tucson Free Fridge now stands in Midtown outside Jen's Organic Home and Baby on Broadway (near Country Club Rd) to help reduce food waste and offer locals access to meals. The non-profit project cost $25,000 and welcomes contributions to keep it running. KGUN 9
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An injured hiker was rescued from the Blackett's Ridge Trail on Jan. 3 with help from the Southern Arizona Rescue Association (SARA) and Pima County Sheriff's Department SAR deputies. A helicopter hoist brought the person to Sabino Canyon LZ for treatment. KVOA
- ➤ Firefighters battled a fire at a mobile home near Valencia and Camino De Oeste in Pima County on Monday, Jan. 5 plus emergency crews worked swiftly to control the blaze. KOLD News 13

- ➤ Bass Pro Shops is hosting a two-day hiring event on Wednesday and Thursday at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Tucson Airport (7051 S. Tucson Blvd, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.) for interviews with its general manager before its new location opens at Tucson Marketplace later this year. KGUN 9

- ➤ Pathways School has opened a new location on Tucson’s eastside for kindergarten through sixth grade near Pantano Road + Broadway Boulevard. Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is now available as the previous campus reached capacity. KVOA
