- ➤ Tucson’s Star Village program has served 37 vulnerable residents and helped at least five transition to permanent housing, Assistant City Manager Liz Morales said. The fully utilized site (with no complaints from nearby businesses) shows steady progress in providing stability. KVOA
- ➤ Pima Animal Care Center is offering free adoptions to first responders until Jan. 11 at 4000 N. Silverbell Road. The shelter gives skip-the-line access and extra perks — a pet sweater and a doggie toy — to thank local heroes. KVOA

- ➤ Pathways School has opened a new campus at Pantano and Fifth Street on Tucson’s east side to serve kindergarten through sixth grade students with disabilities and learning differences. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

- ➤ A new rainwater collector was installed along the Arizona Trail in Redington Pass, offering a steel container (1,500-gallon capacity) to store rainwater for visitors and wildlife. - ➤ The Marana Town Council approved Tuesday night a rezoning plan for 600 acres near the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery for a data center.
