- ➤ Gracie Harvey received the keys to her new Habitat for Humanity home today (ending years of housing insecurity) on Tucson’s southside, marking a fresh start for her family. She contributed over 250 hours to build her home and complete the final unit of the Rodeo subdivision. KGUN 9
- ➤ The Salvation Army is collecting pop-top soups until Feb. 27 in Tucson to support people facing homelessness. The drive helps those without kitchen access by providing an essential food option. KGUN 9
- ➤ Blessings Through Action is breaking ground on two new buildings near Glenn and Country Club to expand affordable housing for people on fixed incomes—offering communal spaces and a transitional unit with rent capped at $700 a month. The nonprofit already manages 18 renovated homes and condos. KGUN 9
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ ASDB announced that the Berger Performing Arts Center on its Tucson campus will close on June 30 due to state funding cuts, leaving local theater groups and educational programs uncertain of where to perform (after 25 years of service). No new operator has been named. KGUN 9
- ➤ The Tucson Gem Show returns for its 12th year with 63 events featuring gems, minerals, fossils, and jewelry across various Tucson locations. Running now until mid-February (visit the event website for details), it brings together collectors and curious visitors. KVOA

- ➤ Southern Arizona braced for winter weather as StormTracker 4 Alert Days were issued Friday and continue today (forecasters urge residents to stay prepared for potential impacts). KVOA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Pima County’s Office of Digital Inclusion (ODI) was named a 2025 Visionary Digital Inclusion Trailblazer by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance today. The county plans to boost digital access with its Connect Pima action plan and a $30.3 million broadband project that will finish by June 2028. KVOA
- ➤ Pima County began a $2.7 million project in Catalina Foothills to replace undersized culverts with six concrete box culverts to address flood risks from the 2020 Bighorn Fire (construction will finish by summer). Residents in the area welcome the planned improvements. KVOA
