  • Triple-T Truck Stop was sold for $8.25M earlier this month to Satguru Enterprises III LLC; the classic truck stop on East Benson Highway near I-10 will remain open with planned upgrades, including extra fuel pumps (preserving its 70-year legacy).  KGUN 9
  • Los Milics Vineyards opened its downtown tasting room last week at 98 E. Congress St. The venue serves estate wines and seasonal fare in a minimalist European-inspired setting and operates daily from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.  Downtown Tucson

CULTURE NEWS

  • Valley of the Moon, a century-old park on Tucson's North Side, hosts immersive, storybook shows and events that promote kindness. The nonprofit has hired part-time staff to extend operating hours and announced a casting call for this February.  Tucson Sentinel

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Sunnyside Unified School District board met Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Fred T. Bull Administration Building (2238 E. Ginter Road) to review falling enrollment, its effect on state funding, and plans to adjust staffing alongside updates to employee contracts and wage proposals.  KVOA
  • Arizona Online at the University of Arizona earned top rankings from U.S. News (ranking in the top 5% of 348 programs and No. 9 for veterans) and Eller College of Management’s MBA tied for No. 6, while fall 2025 enrollment exceeded 10,100 students.  KVOA
  • This week, Caridad Community Kitchen welcomes its 42nd cohort of 11 students to a ten-week culinary training course funded by a $10,000 grant to help locals gain steady job skills and work in nearby kitchens.  KGUN 9

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Attorney General Kris Mayes recovered $15M to support the development of Arizona EV charging stations after a federal judge ruled on the DOT action. Officials said the funds will boost clean energy infrastructure across the state.  KVOA

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials confirmed a third measles case in Tucson. The adult patient (not fully vaccinated) is recovering at home while officials urge people who visited El Rio Health Northwest Clinic, Fry’s, or El Herradero market last week to monitor symptoms until Feb. 12.  Tucson Sentinel

SPORTS NEWS

  • Arizona men's basketball beat BYU 86-83 on Monday, Jan. 26 at the Marriott Center (Burries had a game-saving block) to improve to 21-0. The Wildcats will play ASU in Tempe on Saturday at 12 p.m. via TNT.  The Daily Wildcat
  • The Wildcats remain undefeated at 21-0 after beating BYU and rising to the top in KenPom and NET rankings; they will face unranked ASU in Tempe on Saturday as they aim for their first Final Four since 2001 and national championship since 1997 (coach Tommy Lloyd praises the team’s shared purpose).  Tucson Sentinel
