- ➤ Cyclovia Tucson is seeking volunteers for its open streets event on April 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will close three miles of streets and create safe spaces for walking, biking, live entertainment, and food trucks along the Downtown to Amphi route (organized by Living Streets Alliance). - ➤ Families and advocates will gather Feb. 28 at Children's Museum Tucson from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise awareness for rare diseases and provide support to those affected in Southern Arizona. KGUN 9
- ➤ On Feb. 26 at 9 a.m., the 101st Tucson Rodeo Parade returns with a new route starting at South 12th and Drexel Road and ending at Irvington Road after Union Pacific Railroad changed its schedule. Local organizers backed by the City and Sunnyside Neighborhood Association support the event from 1925. KVOA
- ➤ Primavera is providing affordable housing—offering rent assistance and stability at Las Abuelitas Apartments in South Tucson—while Pima County recently approved $5 million in funding to aid more families. KGUN 9

- ➤ Two Pueblo High alumnae performed with Bad Bunny during the Super Bowl halftime show and now play with Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea (crediting Tucson’s mariachi community for nurturing their love of music). They said representing their heritage fuels their passion to keep playing. KGUN 9

- ➤ The University of Arizona opened its expanded Nanofabrication Core Facility in Tucson to boost semiconductor research and create job pathways for students. The high-tech lab will advance innovation + workforce development in the semiconductor industry. KVOA
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents are invited to submit comments on ADEQ’s decision to waive a State 401 Water Quality Certification for the South32 Hermosa Critical Minerals Project. The comment period opened Feb. 18 and runs until March 20 + submissions may be sent via email or mail. KVOA
- ➤ Researchers from public universities have developed new software tools to locate and assess risks from abandoned mines — funded by a Regents’ Grant from the Board. The tools will help state environmental officials plan cleanups and protect water, land, and wildlife. KVOA

- ➤ Gov. Katie Hobbs ordered flags to be lowered at state buildings today until sunset and will do so again on Feb. 23 to honor the interments of two Arizona DPS crewmembers who died in a helicopter crash on Feb. 4. Tucson Sentinel
