COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Davis-Monthan is hosting Heritage Flight Training from now through Sunday as historic warplanes fly with modern jets to showcase the Air Force's evolution — residents can spot the formations near the base.  KGUN 9
  • City of Tucson's Hope in the Park invites volunteers and vendors to a one-day resource fair on Mar. 6 at Freedom Park (5000 E. 29th St.) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide vital services such as health screenings and legal aid for unsheltered residents.  KVOA

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Wednesday, Tucson Fire rescued a dog trapped behind a 7,000-volt electric fence near Toole and 16th Street. Firefighters laddered to the roof and safely retrieved the pet — returning it to its owner.  KGUN 9

CRIME NEWS

  • Savannah Guthrie plans to return to NBC’s Today show while increasing the reward to $1 million (her missing mother was abducted from a Tucson-area home nearly a month ago).  KOLD News 13

CULTURE NEWS

  • Thousands of Tucsonans filled the Southside on Thursday (Feb. 26) for the 101st Tucson Rodeo Parade. Over 2,000 participants showcased mariachi bands, horses and historical wagons as local families enjoyed the tradition and headed to the rodeo grounds for further festivities.  KGUN 9
  • The 2026 Tucson Rodeo Parade (4-5 p.m. today) will feature colorful floats and live music downtown as local organizers invite residents to join the festive celebration.  KOLD News 13
  • Blind Summit Theatre's touring puppet show 'Sex Lives of Puppets' uses humor to tackle love and modern relationships; it is playing at UA's Marroney Theatre through Saturday + the performance marks the final U.S. stop on its international tour.  Tucson Sentinel
  • On Jan. 22, the University of Arizona’s Confluencecenter hosted its annual Show & Tell at Playground Bar & Lounge. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • In 2025, the Mexican gray wolf population reached at least 319 in Arizona and New Mexico (the region), bringing the species near the threshold for being downlisted from endangered to threatened.  Arizona Daily Star

  • Pima County Transportation will repair pavement on El Camino de Tres Arroyos from Musket Road to Trico Road from March 2 to March 27. Work (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) is expected to cause traffic delays and lane closures.  KVOA
