- ➤ Tucson will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at John F. Kennedy Park on Saturday, Mar. 21 (coinciding with the Tucson Mountain Little League opening ceremonies). Mayor Regina Romero, Vice Mayor Lane Santa Cruz, and Tucson Parks & Recreation will mark the park's significant upgrades. KVOA

- ➤ Photos capture historical images of UFW founders Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta in Tucson, highlighting their impact on farm worker rights. The collection was noted in a March 18 report and showcases pictures taken over the years. Arizona Daily Star

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Arizona Game and Fish Department announced that barn owls at Whitewater Draw recently laid seven eggs *which can range from as few as two to as many as 18* and the father still supplies ample rodents for the growing family. KVOA
- ➤ Local volunteers are working today to remove buffelgrass and protect saguaros across the basin. The annual effort targets several community sites to preserve these native plants. Arizona Daily Star

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Planning and Development Services hosts two free workshops on middle housing code changes to guide builders, owners and designers. The in-person session is Thursday, April 2 at 10 a.m. at Public Works Building+ the virtual session is Thursday, April 9 at 11:30 a.m. via Zoom. City of Tucson
- ➤ The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said 68-year-old Sally Ann Farina, last seen March 14, was located safe on March 19 in Tucson. Officials thanked community members (neighbors and volunteers) for assisting the search. KVOA
- ➤ The City of Tucson is installing grates in the Navajo and Cemetery washes today to reduce trash and enhance safety—funded by the Office of Violence Prevention and Intervention and guided by input from the police and local businesses. KVOA
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A dangerous heat warning is in effect from 11 AM today to 8 PM Sunday over Tucson metro and nearby areas, urging residents and visitors to stay hydrated and avoid heavy outdoor activities. Also, the Wildcats are set to play their first NCAA Tournament game in San Diego today. KVOA
