ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A serious crash involving a van with 14 occupants occurred just before 5 a.m. Sunday on the offramp of Interstate 8 and Butterfield Road near Gila Bend as Border Patrol agents, AZDPS officers and EMTs quickly responded to assist with life flight evacuations and ground ambulance care — one person died at the scene. - ➤ On April 13, a Tucson man named Daniel Webster was charged with first-degree murder after police accused him of beating Michael Lee Baker to death under a park ramada—officers linked his bloody clothes and injuries to the scene. KVOA
- ➤ A 19-year-old Tucson teen was charged with first-degree murder after he beat a man to death in a park on April 13 — police said he was arrested after they found him with bloody clothing near a parking lot. KVOA
- ➤ A pedestrian is fighting for life after being hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash near 29th and Columbus late Friday night on April 11 — the vehicle fled the scene. KOLD News 13

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today in Tucson, a study by UCLA and the Natural Resources Defense Council found that Arizona and Nevada reuse up to 52% and 85% of treated wastewater while other basin states reuse no more than 22% of their wastewater, a gap that puts further water shortages at risk. Tucson Water already reuses 70% of the wastewater from the Agua Nueva facility and is planning upgrades to bring more treated water to parks, schools and even drinking supply—efforts that call for increased federal investment.
