- ➤ Today the Pima County Fair opens in Tucson with rides, live music from Stone Temple Pilots and Brett Young, pig races, pony rides and more, running until April 26. Weekday hours are 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. while weekend hours are 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Across Tucson, 22 restaurants are hosting Dine Out for Safety today to support survivors via SACASA (Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault) by donating part of meal proceeds. Last year, the event raised over $85,000 to fund survivor services. KGUN 9
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters worked overnight to contain a brush fire that burned 30 to 40 acres near North Harrison Road in the Agua Caliente Wash, and crews rotated to address hot spots as rising temperatures may spark additional spot fires. KVOA
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Two rescued mountain lion cubs are settling into a new exhibit at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum after being orphaned in the Pacific Northwest. Visitors can soon learn more about the cubs (part of the museum's wildlife conservation effort) during exhibit hours. Arizona Daily Star
- ➤ Mosaic Quarter is partnering with six local artists to install 11 original murals at its new Iceplex and Field House (project led by Executive Vice President Lindsay Knott) and they will be unveiled next spring and summer. - ➤ Local public artist Danny Martin was painting a downtown mural this morning that honors Wildcats coaches Tommy Lloyd and Lute Olson at 5th Ave and 7th St and will finish it by this weekend (commissioned by the building owner). KGUN 9

- ➤ On April 14, Tucson Unified School District discussed a pilot four-day schedule for Palo Verde High for the 2026-27 school year. Under the plan, classes run Monday through Thursday (8:10 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.) with Friday set aside as an enrichment day. KVOA
