- ➤ Pima County plans a new $87 million mixed-use project called Vail Crossings at Success Drive and Frontage Road later this year to add 1,180 single-family homes plus commercial spaces. Some residents worry the development may harm historical sites and local wildlife, while officials maintain that infrastructure and traffic issues are being addressed. Tucson Sentinel
- ➤ The Southern Arizona Hear Walk raised over $500,000 in Tucson, hosted by Sean Mooney. The community united to support this local fundraising effort. KVOA
- ➤ Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona hosted a block party and resource fair at its headquarters on East Silverlake Road that connected young people and families with job opportunities and community services. - ➤ Tucson-shot thriller 'Choir Practice' featuring Danny Trejo premieres today at The Loft Cinema during the Arizona International Film Festival (the film sold out its first screening, prompting an extra showing on April 25). KVOA
- ➤ Today, thousands will gather at the Tucson Lantern Festival where attendees will create lanterns with personal messages and release them at sunset (a wind advisory warns of gusts up to 40 mph until 1 p.m.). KVOA
