- ➤ The Pima Council on Aging is closing its longtime headquarters on Broadway and selling the Marian Lupu Center as it shifts operations to the Katie Dusenberry Center on Country Club to serve seniors more directly. - ➤ Governor Katie Hobbs signed House Bill 2395 to create the Arizona School Fitness Program at the Department of Education, letting schools opt in to use recognized fitness tests—such as the Presidential Fitness Test—for annual progress reports. - ➤ Arizona Forestry has deployed air+ground crews to manage the Shaw Fire near Cochise Stronghold, where about two acres of grass and brush have burned. The crews are working to safely contain the wildfire today. KOLD News 13
- ➤ The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said the Shaw Fire burned an estimated area (15-20 acres) yesterday near Ironwood Road, prompting evacuations around Cochise Stronghold as ground and air crews worked to protect nearby homes. KVOA

- ➤ Pima County is narrowing plans for new housing in Vail as some residents worry the projects may impact historic landmarks (residents stress the need to protect the area's heritage). Arizona Daily Star
- ➤ A new toucan safety signal has been installed at Euclid and Second (near the U of A) following a fatal crash that killed three students last year. City officials say the signal stops traffic with a button press to give hundreds a safe time to cross. KVOA
