  • Drivers face lane restrictions at the intersection of Saint Marys Road and Silverbell Road after a vehicle crash damaged a traffic light pole; a maintenance crew is working to repair the pole while authorities advise drivers to avoid the area.  KVOA

  • Cannabis sales dropped $66 million between 2024 and 2025 as Moe Asnani of a local dispensary said lower prices have made marijuana more accessible.   • Arizona Department of Economic Security and Pima County are hosting job fairs to connect veterans with work opportunities in healthcare, construction, and government. Pima County will host additional fairs through May.  KGUN 9

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The FBI is asking Tucson teens to apply for its annual Teen Academy, with the call announced on Apr. 23. Interested teens should review the eligibility details to see if they qualify.  KOLD News 13

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Officials remind residents that wildfire prevention is a shared duty amid elevated fire threats in southern Arizona, noting that many wildfires are human-caused.  KOLD News 13
  • Ventana Elementary School students built a vibrant garden to help save pollinators in the Sonoran Desert by choosing native plants that attracted bees and butterflies. They will add new signs and a play area soon.  KGUN 9

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Local officials and advocates urged Gov. Hobbs to block an April 29 auction of 160 acres at the Santa Rita Mountains for the Copper World mine. On Tuesday, Tucson City Council opposed the sale and instructed Mayor Regina Romero to send a formal letter (intensifying local opposition).  KGUN 9
