- ➤ One motorcyclist died after a head-on crash on Tucson’s east side Sunday when 39-year-old Dane Declemente—who was wearing a helmet—was hit by 22-year-old Gabriel John Townsend in a 2005 Toyota Corolla, with police alleging Townsend was impaired and charging him with manslaughter. KGUN 9

- ➤ Police said a gunshot was fired inside Tucson Mall (near the food court) in an aggravated assault incident, with one male detained and no injuries reported. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Rana Dutta, 86, went missing on Sunday after missing his Best Buy appointment and was last seen in Reddington Pass wearing a dark shirt and jeans—his family said he later began knocking on doors near Bear Canyon and Snyder as a Silver Alert was issued. KGUN 9
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Tucson’s folklorico costume maker Carmen Baron was named a 2025 National Heritage Fellow by the National Endowment for the Arts, the nation’s highest honor in folk and traditional arts. She will travel to Washington D.C. to share her work and continue teaching folklorico at the El Rio Neighborhood Center (she has taught since 1978). Tucson Sentinel

- ➤ Arizona autism centers reported a 58% increase in demand for Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBAs) between 2023 and 2024, leaving only about 1,600 certified analysts to serve roughly 800 clients each.
