ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An elderly driver hit a man who was changing his tire on Interstate 19 near San Xavier Mission—killing him as responders attended a multi-vehicle crash with one car on fire and three people taken to local hospitals while authorities investigated the incident. KVOA
- ➤ Emergency crews rushed to a multi-vehicle crash on I-19 northbound near Milepost 56 that left one person dead, three others taken to local hospitals, and authorities closing the lane due to a vehicle on fire and trapped individuals — the Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident. - ➤ A multi-car crash on northbound I-19 near San Xavier resulted in one fatality and led to highway closures as DPS and Drexel Heights Fire District continue investigating the scene. KVOA
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The University of Arizona’s Poetry Center will be closed from May 19 to July 7 for renovations as part of its Belonging Initiative to enhance community access and creative programs. The upgrades will add a new green space behind the center + a residency program supporting queer poets and expanded works in Spanish and by Indigenous authors to reopen in the upcoming academic year.
