- ➤ Tucson USD board approved a $3,000 raise for classroom teachers and a 4% pay increase for substitutes on Tuesday, May 26. The raise will take effect July 1 and is funded through a November override (costing $12 million) to help counter the teacher shortage. KOLD News 13

- ➤ Lightning sparked the Stratton Fire on Mount Lemmon on Sunday night, and crews reached full containment after a 30-minute hike to the remote area near Control Road; firefighters monitored minimal residual heat in an area less than 1 acre with no structures at risk. KVOA
