- ➤ Catholic Community Services will suspend six congregate meal centers in Pima County and its home-delivered meals program on June 15 due to state funding cuts, affecting about 300 seniors and 24 staff members. The organization is working with the Pima Council on Aging (PCOA) to transition senior care services. KVOA

- ➤ Yume Japanese Gardens in Midtown Tucson will reopen early next year as part of Tucson Botanical Gardens after renovations are complete—its two-thirds acre site features seven Kyoto-style courtyard gardens, a koi pond, museum, art gallery and bookstore, and founder Patricia Deridder will stay on the advisory board. - ➤ The Amphitheater School District cut 23.5 teaching positions in Tucson starting in August due to lower enrollment driven by falling birthrates and rising housing costs. - ➤ Attorney General Kris Mayes says that Arizona law requires landlords to keep air conditioners working so tenants have livable homes. If an air conditioner breaks, it must be fixed in five days when it is over 100 degrees and in 10 days when it is cooler—tenants with heat-sensitive conditions can end their lease or file a complaint. - ➤ The Army Criminal Investigation Division warned Fort Huachuca and broader Army communities that kratom use can result in severe military consequences — including confinement, loss of pay and allowances, and a dishonorable discharge.
