- ➤ Tucsonans can give input on the proposed Sonoran Corridor, a new freeway that will connect Interstate 19 and Interstate 10 south of Tucson International Airport. Officials will hold an in-person meeting on June 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Sahuarita Unified School District Auditorium and an online session on June 18 from 6 to 7 p.m., and comments will be accepted until July 18. - ➤ Mayor Regina Romero and Housing and Community Development celebrated the installation of solar panels on 15 City-owned public housing homes using $300,000 in federal funds — the panels, installed by Technicians For Sustainability, will help lower residents' energy bills and reduce emissions. - ➤ Arizona AG Kris Mayes announced the indictment of Austin Cole Smith on June 10 for charges related to fraudulent nominating petition signatures—Smith faces 14 counts, including felonies and misdemeanors, for allegedly using forged signatures to mislead the Secretary of State’s office. KVOA
- ➤ The Pima County Sheriff’s Department opened its San Xavier Substation on the Westside Tuesday on Valencia and Avenida Don Arturo to address local safety concerns.
