- ➤ The Pima County Sheriff's Department said a crash between a truck and a car at South Richey Boulevard and East Aviation Parkway closed westbound traffic as one person was ejected from a vehicle and taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries — drivers are asked to avoid the area. - ➤ A Rio Rico man attempted to evade authorities at an immigration checkpoint on June 9 and was chased by Nogales Border Patrol agents who found a previously removed Guatemalan national hidden in his vehicle's trunk—he will face human smuggling charges in Federal Court while the Guatemalan is set for removal. - ➤ Tucson Police reported that investigators are seeking help identifying a man found dead in a business parking lot at 2732 N. Alvernon Way in Midtown; he is described as 6'1 and 160 lbs, believed to be in his 60s (forensic sketches have been released) and anyone with information should call 88-CRIME. KGUN 9
- ➤ Tucson police arrested a 19-year-old student after he allegedly threatened a classmate by flashing a gun he had concealed near his ankle during a summer school dispute in a Rincon High bathroom on June 2—officers recovered a handgun with 10 live rounds and set his bond at $50,000.
