- ➤ Texas man Grzegorz Vandenberg was arrested in Tucson near Davis-Monthan Air Force Base after buying explosives and mortars in Lordsburg to reportedly target law enforcement during planned riots in Los Angeles — he faces federal charges for transporting explosives across state lines with harmful intent. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Arizona announced a new three-year medical degree at its Tucson and Phoenix schools to help ease the primary care doctor shortage. The program, approved by the Board of Regents, will let students finish one year faster and cut student debt — with the first class starting this fall and a plan to enroll 36 students over the next three years. - ➤ Himmel Park Library at 1035 N. Treat Ave will close on June 30 for a major renovation and expansion that will add a larger meeting room, an outdoor reading porch, and improved park views—completion is expected to take up to two years. Arizona Daily Star

- ➤ Early voting began yesterday for the CD7 primary election, where voters will choose candidates to fill the late Rep. Raúl Grijalva’s seat in a July 15 contest.
