- ➤ On Thursday, July 24, Chiefs Kingdom-Tucson will hold a backpack drive from 6 to 10 p.m. at Station Pub and Grill (8235 N. Silverbell Road) to collect essential school supplies for Tucson children in foster, adoptive, kinship care and group homes. Youth On Their Own (YOTO) is also running the Annual Back-to-School Challenge to raise $75,000 to support homeless high school students and to advocate for federal funding. Arizona Daily Star

- ➤ The Tucson Fire Department responded to a hotel fire at the Grand Luxe Hotel & Resort—located at 1365 West Grant Road—at 2 p.m. Saturday. KOLD News 13
- ➤ A crash on July 21 closed an intersection in Pima County — a PCSD vehicle may have been involved — and local officials began investigating the incident. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Today, a crash involving a Pima County Sheriff's vehicle closed South Mission Road north of West Drexel Road—officials advised drivers to use an alternate route. KGUN 9
- ➤ The Tucson Fire Department responded to a fire at the Grand Luxe Hotel and Resort near the freeway on July 20 at 2:09 p.m.—hotel employees had controlled the flames before they spread and no injuries were reported as officials investigate the cause. KVOA

- ➤ On July 21, Tucson Police Department officers responded at the Walmart on 1260 E. Tucson Marketplace Blvd after a reported domestic violence incident and arrested a suspect — the investigation is ongoing. KVOA
- ➤ A News 4 investigation shows that Christina Clifford is challenging Pima County Attorney Conover after learning that plea deals for three suspects—arrested for the 2024 murder of her husband while he was helping stranded motorists—may be lenient, and the suspects are scheduled to appear in court next month. - ➤ Monsoon rains increased fuel moisture and lowered wildfire risk, so the BLM lifted fire restrictions on federal and state lands in Southeastern Arizona on July 21 — visitors are still advised to follow fire-safety rules when enjoying these areas. KVOA
