- ➤ On Monday, hundreds of teens from North America, Moldova, Ukraine — and Israel were welcomed by Tucson families at the Convention Center for the Maccabi Games opening ceremony. Organizers reported that more than 400 athletes and 350 host families participated and expect the games to deliver a $5.5 million boost to the local economy. KGUN 9

- ➤ On July 27, crews from the Santa Rita Fire District responded to a fatal motorcycle accident on southbound Interstate 19 near Esperanza Boulevard when a 54-year-old rider from Green Valley hit a guardrail and was ejected—resuscitation efforts failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene. KVOA

- ➤ Tucson police identified the victim of a deadly shooting on July 28 — details about the suspect and investigation remain limited as authorities review evidence. KOLD News 13
- ➤ A Tucson dealership faces a fraud probe after a Wisconsin buyer said she was sold a 2020 Yukon Denali for $39,000 without being told of an outstanding lien—lien release came on June 16 with the title updated on July 1, nearly four months after purchase. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Tucson law enforcement arrested a suspect near 22nd and Kolb on Monday, July 28 in a major fentanyl bust that removed over 55,000 suspected pills from the streets—more than 12 pounds of the deadly drug. KOLD News 13

- ➤ Tesla has applied to bring its robotaxi service to Arizona and state officials (including the governor’s office, DPS, and transportation) will meet with the company on Aug. 8 to review the application.
