- ➤ A pedestrian was hit near North First Avenue and East Mohave Road in Tucson on July 30—police said the victim is fighting for life at a local hospital and urged drivers to avoid the area. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Deputies responded to a crash with injuries just after 9:30 a.m. today on North La Cholla Boulevard, which is closed in both directions from West River Road to West Rudasill Road—drivers should use alternate routes. KGUN 9

- ➤ Tucson Police arrested Luke Davis after linking his DNA to the cold case of Casandrah Elena Poole, whose body was found last year in a drainage tunnel near Stella—Wilmot, and he now faces second-degree murder charges. KGUN 9
- ➤ The Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed a 55-year-old man died from injuries in the July 28 explosion on Tucson's southside—marking the second death after a 58-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on July 29 as investigators probe the incident. KVOA

- ➤ As schools prepare to welcome new students, Literacy Connects is asking community members to volunteer for its Reading Seed program in Tucson, which pairs helpers with kindergarten to second grade readers.
