- ➤ Two Arizona brothers (15-year-old Max and 18-year-old Pedro Contreras) donated $800 to The Salvation Army Tucson Hospitality House to help feed shelter residents, using money they had saved from gifts given by their father during a busy summer. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Peggy Williams at Peggy's Peacock Palace in Huachuca City is struggling to care for her 300 rescued animals because reduced work hours have cut the funds needed for proper feed (which costs $2,500 to $3,000 monthly) and she now plans to sell some birds to lower expenses. KGUN 9

- ➤ Friday morning, first responders rescued a worker trapped for four hours in a collapsed 20-foot trench near Midvale Park and Valencia Roads, and he received treatment on the scene before being airlifted to a local hospital. KGUN 9
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Pima County Sheriff's Department is searching for 28-year-old hiker William Grant Charlton, who went missing on July 30 from the Pima Canyon Trail when he told his family he would hike to Mount Kimball—he is 6-foot tall, weighs 185 pounds, has brown hair, hazel eyes, and tattoos along both forearms, and anyone with information is urged to call 911. - ➤ The family of Paul Clifford, who was fatally shot while helping a stranger two days before Christmas 2024, met with Pima County Attorney Laura Conover Friday at 11 a.m.—raising concerns that plea deals for suspects Elmer Smith and Wendy Scott may offer little jail time while a hearing for Scott is set for Tuesday and for Smith on Friday. - ➤ Tucson Police detectives responded to reports of shots fired Thursday evening near 22nd Street — Prudence Road, arresting a suspect and taking one person with non-life-threatening injuries to a hospital. KGUN 9
