- ➤ Arizona Sandwich Co. and Catering will open its first Tucson location in the fall at Winterhaven Square on E. Fort Lowell Road. The 1,300-square-foot space was leased from Winterhaven Investors LLC by Rob Tomlinson and Natalie Furrier — the shop will serve subs, croissant sandwiches, wraps, and salads for dine-in, carry-out, or catering. - ➤ A Pima County judge denied a motion to restrict the Clifford family's public comments after Paul Clifford—who was shot while helping someone near Christmas—was killed, and two suspects, Wendy Scott and Elmer Smith, have accepted plea deals for lesser charges while a trial for shooter Jack Upchurch is set for September. - ➤ Over 1,000 residents showed anger and worry at the Tucson Convention Center on August 4 during a public meeting about Project Blue's proposed data-center project, saying its water and energy use could strain local resources—city officials will continue the debate in a study session today. - ➤ Today, voters in Tucson cast ballots in primary races for Wards 3, 5 and 6 as winners for each party will move on to the general election—while South Tucson holds a recall vote for Mayor Roxanna Valenzuela and council members Cesar Aguirre and Brian Flagg. Polls close at 7:00 p.m. KOLD News 13
