- ➤ A Tucson woman said she was nearly hit by a car while crossing at Tanque Verde and Sabino Canyon with a green light and walk signal — her close call has raised concerns over rushed drivers. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Police said one person was in critical condition after a crash at Ajo Way and Kinney on Aug. 8 — investigators are reviewing the scene. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Javier Palafox, a 40-year-old worker contracted to remove dead palm fronds, died Thursday when a large section of a palm tree broke free and struck him just after 11 a.m., and fire and medical personnel declared him dead with no evidence of foul play reported. KGUN 9

- ➤ The University of Arizona will launch the free SafeCats app today to boost campus safety by delivering real-time tools (push alerts, friend walk tracking, work alone check-ins, and a silent text-to-911 feature) to students, faculty and staff.
