ACCIDENTS NEWS

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Timothy Ray Munoz appeared through video on Wednesday and faces second degree murder and felony criminal damage charges after his truck, allegedly driven while speeding and under the influence, crashed on Aug 10 in midtown Tucson, killing his wife Inez Marie Romero, and his next hearing is scheduled for Aug 25 at 1:30 p.m. KVOA

- ➤ Tucson is marking its 250th birthday this week with events planned from Friday, Aug.15 through Friday, Aug.23 that feature live music at Hotel Congress Plaza, trivia at the Presidio Museum, a western movie at the Loft Cinema and historical exhibits at the Tucson Museum of Art—each event celebrating the city’s founding. - ➤ Auditors found that the Arizona Department of Education relied on written promises from schools to meet safety grant rules instead of checking documents. The review noted that 15 of 16 schools did not fully follow the rules and the department said its small team and fast program growth made full checks hard — it will do more visits in 2026. - ➤ Judge Fox ruled in a 114-page opinion that Arizona’s public school funding system is unconstitutional because it does not meet the minimum requirements to ensure safe, well-maintained schools.
