- ➤ On Friday, the Scarritt Foundation launched its first-ever PUP Outreach Mobile Clinic at Casa Maria Soup Kitchen on Tucson’s Southside to provide free veterinary care, food and supplies to over 125 pet owners—an effort to support local pet health. The Foundation will host a free spay and neuter clinic on Sept. 27 at The Salvation Army Hospitality House from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. KGUN 9

- ➤ Tucson Police said Daniel Hollander was read his Miranda rights twice after his arrest at Legacy Traditional School-East earlier this year — contesting claims by the Pima County Attorney’s Office that his rights were not read. His plea deal resulted in 1 1/2 years in prison with credit for 214 days and a 10-year probation period. KOLD News 13
- ➤ On August 21 at 8 p.m., Tucson Police responded to gunshot reports near West Lee Street and North 9th Avenue and, after a brief foot chase, arrested a 16-year-old charged with possessing a firearm—no injuries or damage were reported. KVOA
- ➤ Tucson Police arrested a suspect on Aug. 22 for allegedly robbing and assaulting a woman at a bus stop — the investigation continues. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Tucson Police arrested a suspect on August 18 for robbing a woman at a bus stop near Saint Marys Road and Silverbell Road — the victim’s quick action in taking photos helped officers locate him, and he now faces charges for robbery and a drug-related offense. KVOA
- ➤ Julio Cesar Aguirre, a previously deported felon, pleaded not guilty in federal court Friday morning for charges in a deadly southside crime spree—Pima County Attorney Laura Conover is suing for access to him to secure key victim testimony. KOLD News 13

- ➤ The Tucson Veterans Affairs Medical Center will get major upgrades to its roof and water systems plus improved distribution at its south campus, funded by an extra $800 million added to the Veterans Health Administration Nonrecurring Maintenance program. This funding, which brings total NRM spending to $2.8 billion for fiscal year 2025, is set to improve care for veterans. KVOA
