- ➤ Drake Edward Gemrose, a 28-year-old motorcyclist, died on Sept. 1 after he was struck around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 on Tucson's eastside when a 65-year-old woman turning left into a shopping center hit him—she was not impaired, received a ticket, and police are still investigating. KVOA

- ➤ Tucson residents noticed a weather balloon overhead this morning and World View Enterprises confirmed it is a Stratollite test launched from its Tucson headquarters— the balloon will fly at 50,000 to 75,000 feet and continue east in the coming days. KVOA

- ➤ Hotel Congress held its second Club Congress Weekend from Thursday through Monday, replacing HOCO Fest last seen in 2023+ the five-day event featured live music, dance parties, puppet theater and a car show that attracted local residents and visitors, with a surprise appearance by Billy Gibbons and a benefit for KXCI.
