- ➤ Project Blue moves forward in Pima County after Tucson City Council rejected annexation as Beale Infrastructure adjusts its data center plans to use air-cooled technology that does not need water. The project will use TEP’s 286 megawatts from existing resources, and its first phase is expected to generate billions in investment, tax revenues, and new jobs by 2029 — updates will be shared with the Board of Supervisors. - ➤ Tucson will hold its 39th annual Celtic Festival and Scottish Highland Games at Rillito Raceway Park from Oct. 24 to Oct. 26—an event that brings Scottish food, music, dance, and games to the community. - ➤ The UA student government Senate approved its new constitution after two weeks of tabling and it will be signed by President Adriana Grijalva to become official. The Senate welcomed new Senator Joclyn Flynn, planned a review of the election code and Honors UNIV 101 curriculum, and is hosting an open house today from noon to 2 p.m. at the Student Union Memorial Center — giving students a chance to connect with their representatives. - ➤ Today, the University of Arizona said it will invest $257M in tribal community partnerships to support local projects and strengthen ties with tribes—an effort set to expand in the coming months. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Today, Pima JTED’s Robotics and Manufacturing Program celebrates the donation of a state-of-the-art robotic arm from FANUC in partnership with SkillsUSA — the upgrade gives students hands-on training with industry standards. KVOA

- ➤ Pima County is set to release its 12th annual Living River Project report that details water restoration efforts in the Santa Cruz River, showing that more than 40 dragonfly species have been identified compared to 11 last year. - ➤ Today, road work begins on Old Sonoita Highway and will run through Nov. 4 from the SR 83 and I-10 connection to a point 6 miles south, with Southern Arizona Paving handling milling, repaving, and marking work.
