Construction will begin late 2026 and the projects are funded by voter-approved Prop 407 and Prop 411 programs — officials say the plans aim to improve safety for bicyclists, drivers, and pedestrians. - ➤ The Tucson City Council shifted its focus toward securing public spaces after a bicyclist was fatally stabbed on The Loop Tuesday night—officials now plan changes like making drug possession a misdemeanor to improve safety in areas with repeated crimes. - ➤ On Friday, the Pima Community College volleyball team tied the match at 1—1 before losing the next two sets in a four-set contest at West Campus Aztec Gymnasium facing Chandler-Gilbert Community College. The Aztecs will host Glendale Community College on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. Tucson Sentinel
- ➤ Yesterday, the Pima Community College men’s cross country team raced at the Dave Murray Invitational hosted by the University of Arizona. The No. 22 Aztecs placed seventh with a score of 189 points—freshman Jose Hernandez finished 32nd of 90 runners, and the team will compete next Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Al Shirley Invitational.
