- ➤ News 4 Tucson's Senior Fair takes place on Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at DoubleTree Reid Park—445 S. Alvernon Way, offering free workshops, health tips, and financial advice to Southern Arizona’s 55+ community. KVOA
- ➤ Marana Pumpkin Patch and Farm Festival opens this weekend for its 15th season at 14950 N Trico Rd — the event offers carnival rides, a corn maze, and pumpkins that benefited from dry monsoon conditions. Owner Jon Post said his team spent a year preparing for visitors, including about 10,000 students scheduled to tour through Sunday, October 26 — a chance for local families to enjoy the fall festivities. - ➤ Young dancers aged 6 to 17 will audition on October 6 at 4:30 p.m. at Flor de Liz Dance Inc.—318 W. Fort Lowell Road to join the NUTCRACKER! - ➤ Nightfall 2025 turns Old Tucson Studios into Arizona’s top Halloween event that runs from today to November 1 on Thursdays through Sundays from 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at 201 S. - ➤ Tucson artist Joe Pagac is working on his largest mural yet in Midtown near 5th Ave and Alvernon Way—covering over 9,000 square feet and growing 1,000 square feet larger than his previous work. He uses a grid and electric paint sprayers to transfer his evolving design while making changes with input from building owners for the best view from the street. KGUN 9

- ➤ University of Arizona has reduced aid for out-of-state students to create smaller classes and improve access for Arizona residents—Provost Patricia Prelock said the change is part of a new enrollment strategy. Arizona Daily Star

- ➤ Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes submitted the 2025 Election Procedures Manual to Gov. Hobbs and Attorney General Kris Mayes in a year-long bipartisan effort to ensure a fair and secure voting process across 15 counties—approval is expected by Dec.31. KVOA
- ➤ Pima County is expanding its Sewer Outreach Subsidy program today to give low-income households up to an 80% discount on sewer fees. The Board of Supervisors approved the change on Sept. 2—meant to ease the cost after an August fee increase—and more households will soon qualify for help. KVOA
