- ➤ Protesters marched through downtown Tucson on Saturday, Oct. 18 as part of the nationwide No Kings protests+ local media captured the demonstration. Arizona Daily Star
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UA students gathered in front of Old Main on Friday to protest a White House compact that would require the university to change admissions and hiring practices in exchange for federal grants. Eighteen student groups demonstrated while President Suresh Garimella met with the Board of Regents to review the proposed deal—raising concerns about job security and free expression. KGUN 9
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona is hosting a free vaccine clinic for dogs and cats at 741 W. Roger Road from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.—vaccines will be given until noon or after the first 125 animals are served, and pet owners must keep dogs on leashes and cats in carriers. KVOA

- ➤ On Saturday, the Pima Community College men’s cross country team set new personal records at the Highlander Invitational hosted by UC Riverside, finishing 21st out of 25 teams—freshman Jose Hernandez clocked 25 minutes, 20.5 seconds as his best time along with four teammates. The Aztecs will compete at the Region I, Division I Championships on Saturday with start times and location to be announced. Tucson Sentinel
- ➤ The University of Arizona men’s basketball team won an exhibition game 81-68 over Saint Mary’s College on Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. Senior guard Jaden Bradley led with 23 points — the Wildcats used the match to test rotations ahead of their regular season. The Daily Wildcat
- ➤ The Pima Community College women’s cross country team finished eighth in the Highlander Invitational on Saturday at UCR—four runners set new personal records. The Aztecs will compete in the Region I, Division I Championships next Saturday with details to be announced. Tucson Sentinel
- ➤ The Roadrunners beat the Wranglers by a score of 5 to 4 in overtime on October 18th when Austin Poganski scored the winning goal—giving the team a strong start in their home opener. KVOA
- ➤ The Pima Community College volleyball team lost a tough five-set match to Mesa during an ACCAC contest on Friday. Pima will face No. 19 Scottsdale Community College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.—with McReynolds leading the team with 16 kills as they aim to rebound. Tucson Sentinel
