- ➤ El Güero Canelo will open its new Southside restaurant tomorrow at 11 a.m. at 5201 S. 12th Ave—bringing its famous Sonoran hot dogs and Mexican street fare to the area after the original location was replaced by a parking lot. KGUN 9

- ➤ Hundreds gathered at the mall on Nov. 2 to remember University of Arizona students Katya Rosaura Castillo Mendoza (21), Sophia Akimi Troetel (21), and Josiah Patrick Santos (22) who were killed in a hit-and-run late Thursday night—roads on University Boulevard were closed for the memorial service. - ➤ Loft Film Fest will run Nov.5—Nov.13 at Loft Cinema with 52 events including 12 international films and classics curated after nearly a year of research on global film festivals. - ➤ The University of Arizona is hosting homecoming week which brings thousands of students, alumni and families back to campus for celebrations—connecting the community with longstanding UA traditions. KOLD News 13
- ➤ The Sunnyside Unified School District is asking voters to pass a $120 million bond to fix old school buildings—this plan will pay for repairs like HVAC, roofing, plumbing, and upgrade classroom technology in 21 schools. Property owners may see a charge of $3.76 per month for every $100,000 in value and must mail or drop off ballots by 7 p.m. today. KGUN 9

- ➤ Tucson Water and the Tucson Fire Department will set a controlled burn at Sweetwater Wetlands on Thursday at 8 a.m.—part of the city's Mosquito Abatement Program to remove dead vegetation, control invasive plants, and train wildland firefighters. - ➤ The City of Tucson will begin construction on the 100-Acre Wood Bike Park at 2801 S. Alvernon Way on Nov. 19 when the park closes for cleanup and site preparation, with full work set to start on Dec. 8; city officials say the project will offer local riders a safe space to ride + support outreach that recently connected 78 households with housing. - ➤ Sun Tran will close bathrooms at Tucson transit centers after hours to curb vandalism and drug abuse — restrooms will be unavailable from midnight to 4 a.m. Some unhoused residents worry this change will remove one of their few safe restroom options. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Following a fatal crash that killed three U of A students last week, the City of Tucson will install a new traffic signal at Euclid Avenue and 2nd Street—construction will begin before the end of 2025 and finish by spring. KGUN 9
- ➤ Gov. Katie Hobbs and the Arizona Department of Health Services launched AZRx—a free prescription drug discount card program available from Nov. 3 that aims to lower the cost of essential medications for all Arizonans. KGUN 9
