- ➤ The Traveling Vietnam Wall and the Cost of Freedom Tribute are on display in Rancho Sahuarita starting today through Nov. 11 with free admission each day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.—an opening ceremony is scheduled today at 8 a.m. at Club Rancho Sahuarita where visitors can also add veterans' names on flags, honoring those who served. - ➤ DUSK Music Festival will return to downtown Tucson for its ninth year from November 15-16 at Jácome Plaza, featuring 31 artists including international acts and local bands—adding new experiences like Tucson ARTS, Tucson PLAYS, and food by Tucson FEASTS. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Arizona State Parks and Trails will waive day-use park fees for U.S. veterans, active duty personnel and National Guard members on Veterans Day as thanks for their service. Veterans may bring up to three adult guests with valid military ID while fee-based programs such as tours and camping remain excluded — park executive director Bob Broscheid said year-round discounts will also be offered for service members. - ➤ The University of Arizona women’s basketball team won its season opener with a 62-59 victory over UC Riverside at McKale Center on November 6th, and head coach Becky Burke earned her first win while graduate guard Mickayla Perdue led the team with 17 points. The Daily Wildcat
- ➤ Coach Kendra Veliz led the Aztecs to an 11-0-3 conference record and was named ACCAC/Region I Coach of the Year while seven players earned honors for the first time since 2007—Pima Community College’s women’s soccer team also won the Region I and West District Championships and will play in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament from Nov. 16-22 with a seedings show on Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m. Tucson Sentinel
- ➤ Yesterday, No. 13 Arizona beat Utah Tech 93-67 at home as Tobe Awaka scored 12 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds while Koa Peat added 18 points, boosting the team to a 2-0 start — the Wildcats will play Utah Tech at Arizona State on Sunday. KVOA
