- ➤ Staff at the Salvation Army Hospitality House in Tucson are preparing to serve over 500 meals on Thanksgiving but still need items like cranberry sauce, stuffing, and pies—donations can be dropped off at 1002 N. Main Ave from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. KGUN 9
- ➤ KGUN 9 has compiled a list of local organizations to assist Tucson residents who are unhoused—providing food, shelter and other basic services as city, county and nonprofit partners work to expand support. The list includes resources like Arizona 211, the Salvation Army and Community Food Bank that residents can contact directly for help. KGUN 9
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Amphi Unified School District is holding public meetings to review a proposal to consolidate elementary schools due to declining enrollment, with a session today at 6:30 p.m. at Ironwood Ridge High School Auditorium, another on November 20 at Amphitheater High School Auditorium, and one on November 21 at Canyon del Oro High School Auditorium. The proposal will be presented to the Governing Board on Dec. 9 and changes will take effect next school year (the plan would consolidate schools such as Copper Creek, Donaldson, Nash and Holaway). - ➤ Tuesday, the Fiesta Sports Foundation distributed $1.5 million in grants to 540 teachers—each received $2,500 to ease nearly $900 spent annually on classroom supplies. This grant program is a direct effort to relieve the financial burden on educators. KOLD News 13

- ➤ Tucson officials finished the final cleanup at 100-Acre Wood Bike Park Tuesday morning—removing all homeless encampments from the area. KOLD News 13
- ➤ The Tucson City Council formed a steering committee made up of business owners, residents and community leaders after a Tuesday study session to advance the creation of the El Corazon de Tucson Business Improvement District on Fourth Avenue. The district will require extra taxes for improved safety, landscaping and cleaning—measures that aim to boost investment in the historic area. KOLD News 13
- ➤ Pima County has allocated $830,000 in emergency funds for non-profits—supporting food, housing, utilities, transportation, legal services, and medical needs. Eligible agencies that already receive County money may apply for grants of $25,000 to $75,000 from today until Dec. 3 with reviews by the Citizen Review Committee before recommendations on Dec. 16.
