If you get a Tucson Electric Power bill, here's what's on the table. TEP's final proposal to the would raise the average customer's monthly bill by about $13.50, or 9.8%. The administrative law judge on the case, Julia L. Matter, recommended a little less: about $12.93 a month, an estimated 9.4%.

Matter also supports TEP's request for an Annual Rate Adjustment Mechanism, or , which would update rates every year. The Residential Utility Consumer Office, a state agency that advocates for residential customers, is challenging the recommendations in comments filed Friday.

“It's very likely in our opinion, that there will be an increase in 12 months and every year thereafter.”

A 747-acre AI data center campus is proposed near Cochise, and you can weigh in

If you followed the fight over Project Blue in the Tucson area, here's another one. Developer has applied to Cochise County for a Special Use Authorization to build a supercomputer and AI data center campus on about 747 acres along U.S. Highway 191 near the Apache Generating Station. Plans call for up to nine computing buildings in four phases and an estimated six gigawatts of electricity at full build-out. County staff haven't yet verified the application.

The applicant says the campus would use no cooling towers and zero industrial groundwater, create 1,000 permanent jobs and lower bills for Sulfur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative customers, according to its application. K101 reports the applicant estimates 7 to 10 acre-feet of water a year at full build-out. A petition against the project has more than 1,100 signatures.
